Payments and funded commitments
Payment profiles distinguish permission to spend later from cash funded now.
| Profile | Funding | Settlement rule |
|---|---|---|
| Payment grant | No reserved principal | Fixed recipient and bounded current-policy authority |
| Recurring mandate | No reserved principal | One due JOLT payment per eligible period; missed periods do not accumulate |
| Voucher vault | Funded JOLT budget | Cumulative signed claims pay only the immutable recipient |
| Time/hash payment | Funded JOLT principal | Fixed recipient, hash preimage and claim window |
| Agreed escrow | Funded JOLT principal | Accepted buyer/merchant/adjudicator terms, delivery and dispute windows |
| Attested/composed condition | Funded JOLT principal | Explicit configured signatures and bounded condition profile |
| Inactivity bequest | Funded beneficiary shares | Check-in, notice and one-time settlement under owner-selected terms |
For merchant billing with native/ERC-20 plans, capped price increases and keeper-driven renewals, see JSN subscriptions. Those contracts have grace-period retries; the native mandate's skipped-period rule above remains a separate profile.
Funded vouchers
A registered account funds a vault with a recipient, immutable voucher key, capacity and exclusive claim deadline. A voucher carries an increasing cumulative amount. If amount A has been signed and S already paid, the next eligible claim pays A - S, bounded by the funded capacity. Older vouchers add no payment.
Account recovery does not confiscate the funded recipient obligation. Revocation has a delayed cutoff; claims remain possible during the applicable window. The delay is defined by the configured development profile. A compromised voucher key can pay only its fixed recipient within remaining funded capacity.
Offline terminals still need coordination, hardware or separate budgets to avoid independently accepting duplicated vouchers. On-chain over-claim rejection does not establish guaranteed offline acceptance.
Conditions and disputes
A signature establishes who attested, not whether an external event is true. Each escrow/condition profile fixes its verifiers, recipients, windows and payout rules. It cannot reverse an unrelated finalized transfer. Ordinary recovery and funded-commitment settlement are separate authority paths.
Sponsorship and atomic plans
A native sponsor signs the exact outer fee-paying transaction. An account can approve exact calls in an atomic plan. Call authorization and outer fee authorization remain separate. See transaction lifecycle.
